Abdul-Lateef Sabir is currently the assistant to Imam Wahy-ud Deen Shareef at Masjid Waarith ud Deen
in Irvington New Jersey. As an assistant, he performs lectures on Fridays during Muslims sacred time of
worship for Jumah prayer. He sits on the board of Masjid Waarith ud Deen. He sits on the board of the
Council of Imams in NJ as the Treasurer. As the assistant to Imam Wahy-ud Deen Shareef, he
participates in fundraisers, interfaith dialogues and other religious duties. Abdul-Lateef Sabir has been
studying Qur'anic Arabic, for the past 11 years and is a graduate of Arabic I from the M.A.L.I. system, the
Muslim American Logic Institute.
After graduating from East Orange High, Abdul-Lateef Sabir attended college for three years in his home
state of Florida, at Florida A&M University with a focus on Construction Management. He eventually
turned his interest to the mortgage banking and non-profit industry. Abdul-Lateef Sabir gain 18 years of
experience as a Loan Consultant, then moving to a Branch Manager in the mortgage industry both in the
profit and non-profit sector. He has help many first time home buyers purchase their first home using
the many products available through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD. He had a particular focus in
the last eight years of his career in helping seniors citizens stay in their homes with the use of Reverse
Mortgages.
Abdul-Lateef Sabir decided to go back to school after gaining an interest in the Information Technology
industry. He has achieved some of the highest certifications available through Cisco Systems, an
industry leader. After leaving the mortgage industry in 2007, he design, build and support data centers
for companies like AT&T, IBM etc.. as a Network Architect for Cisco Systems.
